Emilia Broomé (1866-1925). Emilia was a Swedish politician (liberal), feminist and peace activist. She was an active member of the National Association for Women's Political Voting Rights and was also chairman of the Stockholm Association for Women's Political Voting Rights from its foundation 1902 to 1906. Emilia was also the first Swedish woman to be part of the Swedish State Legislative Committee (Legberedningen), which prepared for new laws and where she served as a member 1914–1918. She participated in writing the reformed marriage law in 1920, in which men and women were equal and the married woman was declared the legal majority. in the Act on Equal Pay for Women 1921; and the Act (Competence Act) which gave women the right to all official professions in 1923.
